Office:

Hello! My name is Victoria but most call me Tori. In my spare time I enjoy working with rehabilitation animals, specifically reptiles and amphibians. When I'm not working with animals, I enjoy gardening and reading a good book with my cat. My favorite color is blue and swimming with great whites off the coast of Australia is a 'top five must-do' experience on my bucket list.

Education:
  • Kennesaw State University B.S in Biology (2017)
  • Kennesaw State University M.S in Integrative Biology (2019)
Research Interests:

My research interests began when I was working in a Pathology lab during an undergraduate research experience (REU @ UGA; Population Biology of Infectious Diseases) where I was introduced to parasites. During my Master's, I ventured out and explored my interests in physiology and developmental biology in the form of an integrative program that pushed me out of my academic comfort zone and taught me to examine problems from multiple perspectives. My current research interests involve elucidating the link between Artemisinin, an important anti-malarial, resistance and the drug-induced dormancy survival mechanism that is induced in Artemisinin treated Plasmodium falciparum
